The Challenge:

Art Makes Columbus is a campaign aimed at showcasing the importance of art in central Ohio. The good news is there are dozens of artists with distinctive and newsworthy stories. The challenge is offering a coordinated message that also promotes Columbus as a hub for the arts.

The Opportunity:

Irvin PR wanted to harness the enthusiasm of local artists while reinforcing the messaging of how Art Makes Columbus helped those artists get to where they are today.

The Work:

Irvin PR created a content calendar of events, worked with artists to create pitches and sought local, regional and national media opportunities. Irvin PR also helped refine messaging so the artists could showcase their work and how their work fit into the larger Art Makes Columbus campaign.

The Results:

Irvin PR received nearly 350 media hits in one year, totaling more than $3 million in ad equivalency and more than 350 million impressions. Media coverage included CBS Sunday Morning, the Washington Post and Yahoo. Locally, Art Makes Columbus was featured in every local magazine, the Dispatch and all four television stations.
