Sarah Irvin, President

Sarah Irvin has excelled in the public relations industry for more than 15 years, having worked in some of the most prominent public relations firms in central Ohio. She has worked on such major accounts as Honda of America, Limited Brands, the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism and more.

She has earned the designation of accreditation in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Sarah has also received the PRSA PRISM award for media relations for her work on the Columbus Marathon and special event PRISM award for Komen Columbus Race for the Cure.

Sarah worked in collaboration with the Columbus Department of Recreation & Parks and Ringling Bros. to create the Red Nose Children's Run in Columbus. More than 650 children participated in the 2007 event. The Columbus event serves as a template for Ringling around the country as part of its national Circus Fit efforts to combat childhood obesity.

Finally, in her spare time, Sarah is also a board member of Dine Originals Columbus, a group of more than 30 individually owned and operated restaurants, and is co-chair of the 2008 German Village Haus Und Garten Tour.

Michele Mooney, Public Relations Director

Michele Mooney has spent more than 15 years in public relations and marketing for food, restaurant, nonprofit and retail companies in Ohio.  She considers herself most fortunate to work for and with local entities such as The Olive Orchard, Edible Columbus, Wexner Center for the Arts, North Market, Whole Foods Market, Worthington Farmers’ Market, Buckeye Vodka and Greater Columbus Arts Council. Michele joined Irvin PR in 2011.

Michele has a degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Ohio University. She currently is a partner in The Olive Orchard, a locally based curator of extra virgin olive oils from around the world.

Worthington is home to Michele, her husband, Bill and their two sons, J.D. and Burke.  In her free time, Michele likes to do yoga, shop local food markets, cook, read and nap!

Annette Witherspoon, Account Executive

Annette Witherspoon is a 10-year public relations veteran who is excited to put her skills back to work after taking a career break to raise her children. During her time in the industry, Annette developed and executed public relations strategies, created messages that resonate with key target audiences, and cultivated relationships with national, local and trade press. She has worked in government, corporate and agency settings.
 
Annette earned her degree from The Ohio State University and is an avid Buckeye fan. She resides in Worthington with her husband John, their two children, Jack, 11, and Elise, 8, as well as their adorable Shih Tzu, Edward.
 
In her spare time, Annette likes to dabble in various craft projects, but her favorite medium is paper. You can see some of her cards and other paper crafting creations on her blog www.aspoonfullofsugarcrafts.blogspot.com.

At Irvin PR, Annette is the Account Executive for Feld Entertainment (Disney On Ice, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Monster Jam) and supports other Irvin PR clients including Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon and 1/2 Marathon, Komen Columbus Race for the Cure and Columbus Oktoberfest.

Dan Farkas, Strategic Advisor

Dan Farkas is a storyteller who has traveled the country finding new ways to share stories of all varieties. To tell a great story, you need a great strategy. Dan has experience in traditional PR, social media, marketing, video production, blogging and podcasting. As a former television news reporter and anchor, Dan won more than two-dozen awards for his work with print and the web. His work appeared on CNN, MSNBC, TV Talk and other forums. He's worked on campaigns ranging from non-profit to education to corporate. Dan is also an Instructor of Strategic Communication at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University where he teaches students about writing, social media, multimedia, strategy and campaign creation
